"I wanted to make a personal, chic, happy space that wasn’t just a white box," says MAPS President Paul Lardi, who opened the studio 16 years ago after being inspired by driving a motor home and the desire to provide a warm energy and a soothing, comfortable working environment that encourages creativity. Influenced by Asian-style elements mixed with modern design, this studio space features exposed cement and raw wood. The mezzanine level includes a family-style eating area and allows subjects and observers to be part of the shoot or out of the way. T-Mobile recently shot a commercial here with all the greatest of the great major NBA stars, including Dwayne Wade, Dr. J., Isaiah Thomas, Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley. And "Burn Notice" (Season 4) started their first day of production here.
